What I Learnt At Paradise House

Get your bliss notes

My experience last week at Leonie Dawson‘s abode was nothing short of miraculous.

I feel so privileged and deeply touched that I was even granted such an opportunity as this one; to not only have my business coached by Leonie, but to be invited to sit around the dinner table with her family, to share stories of our lives, to play with her moon-beam daughter, Ostara (the most adorable child ever, who even speaks her own angel language) and to relax into the soak of the Dawson’s abundant bath of life.

I arrived scattered and somewhat frantic, but very hopeful. Things changed radically.

I’m writing these words now with a never before experienced sense of ease and faith. It’s fair to say that the powerhouse that is Leonie Dawson truly brought forth Goddess Tara; the part of me that can gently smile at challenges, willingly learn from lessons and enthusiastically step forward into the wonderful unknown.

Shit. It feels really, really good.

I learnt about boundaries and systems and doing work that my soul feels called to.

I learnt of my true worth, that (yes, really!) I’m a light worker who’s gifts need to be shared with the world. Stat!

I also learnt that it’s totally hot to not wash you hair five days before a photo shoot. Really. I mean that. That being present for a photo shoot is what’s important- not having a perfect blow wave.

I remembered that barefoot is always best.

That eating dinner before the sun goes down makes room for a night of playing, painting and connecting.

I learnt that mini-trampolines call forth everyone’s inner super hero, and that thanks to Ostara, I learnt that, yes, absolutely, I can identify with myself as a mother in the future (big revelation there, folks!).

I learnt more than ever the power of amplified intention that comes with spending time with inspired, like-minded people.

I learnt that absolutely anything is bloody possible in this lifetime. That we can choose to not only live our lives like we mean it, but that we can prioritise the type of lifestyle we yearn for.

I buried my fears in the earth under a freshly planted tree, and that’s where I left them. And I’ll be honest, I can’t even remember what I wrote.

I watched my face change in the mirror while in Cairns, and so did my fellow retreaters. We learnt how quickly we can grow as women, entrepreneurs and goddesses by choosing to wear bigger business shoes.

And, more than ever, I learnt how important it is to ask for help. I have been gently lifting my head to the angels like a crazy woman since my retreat experience. Thank you for bringing these moments to me.

It makes me feel uncomfortable knowing that I would still have been tripping in the dark, fumbling around, trying to find a way to reach more people on a mission to help them. I feel as though Leonie waved a magic wand over me and right royally sorted me out. I am so, so grateful. Here’s a post-retreat interview that Leonie recorded; where I sing her praises and describe how it is that she managed to totally transform my mindset. Also- we giggle- a lot! And, watching this video might bring you and I closer; you may learn a thing or two about me :)

Sometimes, often actually, we already have everything we need, we’re just not exactly sure how to implement them in our lives. The thing is, we can’t ever do it alone. Ever. I needed Leonie’s help with my business and as the next few months unfold, I’m absolutely sure I’ll be alternating between silent smiles and outrageous fist pumps; connecting with determined women all over the world, helping them transforms their lives, and watching my business grow.

I’ve blogged of the importance of investing in ourselves before, but having come out the other end of Paradise House more focused and expanded, it deserves another mention. Investment is the creme de la creme of self care, it truly is. And I’m not talking about the type of investment where you leap-frog from program to program, without ever having processed the wisdom. Rather, I’m talking about the type of exchange where you swap money for golden nuggets of advice and implement them carefully and soulfully. When you take this soulful route, expect joy, longevity, growth and sanity! It’s an all-encompassing bear hug for your present moment, and a gift for your future.

At Paradise House I realised how important it is for us to admit: Things just don’t feel right at the moment. I’m a little lost. I’m uncomfortable. I’m going to seek guidance. I’m going to make this investment in myself.

Again: It’s okay to ask for help. It’s ideal.

I hope you’re all managing this Full Moon energy beautifully. Please don’t forget to tweet this post out to anyone who might need it! x
