love party: my groom

Get your bliss notes

Can you believe the owner of that gorgeous little face is approaching 31 years old?! Ladies and gents, I give you, the person I hold closest to my heart, my backpacking bud, my soulman, my love, my husband: Glen.

Bromance…. The imperative, significant and adoring friendship that Ally and I shared on the day was not without its competition. Paulie was Glen’s best man and witness. The three of us met in Perisher 2009 and quickly self adopted the nickname “The Terrible Trio” for apt reasons. I often wonder how Paulie would have felt, or what he would have been thinking, watching two thirds of the trio tying the knot. This photo does all the talking. These two love each other :)

There were tears, you better believe it! My Glen, in all his choked up glory, let a few tears roll down his face during the ceremony, struggling a little to articulate the vows he wrote, which made it all the more beautiful. I am a few inches taller than Glen, and perhaps on a subconscious level that contributes to the nurturing feelings I have for him 24/7. I had to use all my energy to refrain from scooping him up right there and letting him nuzzle into my neck. It was hard. Instead I reached for his hand, waiting impatiently to be declared married just so I could kiss this gorgeous creature!

Relieved, exhausted and thirsty!

And by the way, married life with this man is rad. It is so much fun. I look forward to racing home to him, and when he comes home to me I run to the door with a sizable grin on my face and wide open arms as though it’s been decades. It’s a situation not dissimilar to a pathetic, squirm worthy movie scene. Anyway, point being- true love is indeed not dead people, in fact it is alive, kicking and flourishing. And on that note, good evening!
