I wrapped up my 3 Part Self-Love series last week, but, proving that this little ol’ journey of acceptance and self nourishment is an on-going process, I was recently presented with an opportunity to practice what I preach. This experience was also a humbling one, and it’s enabled me to work more compassionately with my clients then ever before!
Last week, Glen took me out into the sea for a few surfing lessons (don’t ask me why I thought this would be an appropriate time of the year to get psyched about surfing! Each day is getting cooler and more crisp, and when I awake in the morning, my yoga mat and a cup of tea is certainly more enticing that sliding on a damp wetsuit. Ick!), and I learnt a lot about myself, the world we live in, and what it REALLY takes to approach life from a gentle, moment-to-moment angle.
Anyway. Moral of the story. This ALL comes back to you. You, and your day-by-day experience of what it means to be okay with who you are, where you’re at, what you’re doing, and what you want.
It may have taken a few surfing lessons for me to dip my feet back into the pools of self-doubt, but from that experience, I feel closer to you and your doubts, and I reckon that what I share in this video may help you tremendously on your own journey.

Care to share with us your intention for today? Or, maybe like one of my clients, you’d like to set an intention for the weekend (this is particularly useful is you’re a Party Girl looking to lean away from a scene that no longer serves you).
I’m looking forward to reading, acknowledging and sending love to your intentions!
If you’re a little stuck, try these.
Just for today, I will look for the gift in any moment.
Just for today, I will smile at every passing stranger.
Just for this weekend, I’ll eat nothing but whole foods.
Don’t forget to share this post with your pals!
Beautiful brilliance as usual Tara. Off to share xx
Thank you sweet Kirri
I love this! You’re so right that setting an intention, even a little one, cuts down on the daily flailing in a big way. Great metaphor – there are def. times when life feels like one wave after another. xo
“Harness you power of choice”- beautiful!
I love the idea of laughing at fearful thoughts, even just for a day. I really love this approach- I’m going to implement it straight away!
Thank you so much Tara.
Just for today, I’m going to honour to myself! xx
Your support of this blog never ceases to amaze me Katie. Thankyou! And let me know how your intention goes.
I loved this beautiful video, Tara! What you’re talking about here is something that’s been completely life changing for me… It singelhandedly helped me kick a serious 10-year-old nicotine addicition and turn to a healthy, nutritous diet. I get very easily overwhelmed when I keep trying to look to the future and see the end point, the bigger picture. But reminding myself that all I have is the present moment and all I need to do is make an intention for TODAY has done wonders for me :)
Thank you for your inspirational blog! I love coming here for some nurturing food-for-thought :)
I loved this :) it’s all about breaking it down into baby steps! One day at a time!
Totally doable.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Xx
Perfect post! This is something I struggle with when it comes to self-love. Where do I start?? This was EXACTLY what I needed right when I needed it.
Divine timing.
Just for today, I will choose kindness.
Your website, videos and words renew my spirit. I am grateful that I have a beautiful place online to visit that reminds me to be beautiful to myself. Thank you Tara.
My intention this weekend is to fully listen with my heart, body and mind. Hmmm…perhaps I will keep that intention all week :)
Perfect. Thankyou Tara! Sending you lot of gratitude and love :)
I really needed this today. Thank you.
Tara, I never cease to wonder at the wisdom and love that you hold.
Today, I have set intentions rather than making a to-do list. And it’s been more productive than ever before – not just in work, but in looking after myself as well. I think it will be the way forward from here on in.
Thank you for inspiring me to make today more beautiful.
