Such Different Vixens: Sabrina Bolin

Get your bliss notes

Sabrina Bolin has a shiny spirit; you can tell, just by looking at her. The way she writes and speaks makes me feel so calm and connected to her, and I sort of have an inkling that she’d give amazing hugs!

She calls herself a joy coach, and you know, I think she’s nailed it! I love her take on work-life balance, authenticity, and her humbling approach to ‘vessel’ coaching really, really resonates with me.

She’s so kindly honest; so beautifully articulate, and she has that glow about her that whispers ‘yep. I’ve found my thing.’ What an angel.

LINE

Sum up your mission in one sentence.

My mission is to be a vessel for love.

It’s really that simple, and I’m so grateful that it manifests in so many ways in my life (through my writing, speaking, and coaching practice, through my relationships, and through all the creative endeavors I embark upon!).

Can you share with us one of your most vulnerable moments (and in hindsight, what made it so beautiful?).

One of my most vulnerable moments was several years ago when my brother (who lives with my mom back in Oklahoma) went missing.

I felt helpless to support him or my mom during this time, and it forced me to just be with what is and release my urge to control and fix the situation.

In hindsight, it was a beautiful time as it truly brought my mom and I closer together than we ever had been. It reminded me that she and I – and every single one of us on this planet – are in this boat together, and that we can only survive and thrive by connecting deeply and supporting one another.

What turns you on?

Creativity, connection, and cultivating a sense of adventure in my life light me up and turn me on!

I fulfill my urge for creativity and connection deeply through the work I do as a writer, speaker, and coach (and when I play as an actress from time to time), but cultivating a sense of adventure takes a little more conscious action.

This is one of the reasons travel is such an integral part of my life. Coming from a multi-ethnic household (my mom is Vietnamese and my dad is American), I always knew that the world was bigger than my little community, and I yearned to explore this world from a young age.

Of course once I got out there (I’ve since visited several countries in Western Europe, the UK, Southeast Asia, a bit of Australia, Central America, Fiji and French Polynesia), I realized that the world is actually a lot smaller than I once thought and that at the core, we are all so very much alike.

When I can’t make it across the world, I aim to give myself mini adventures around town by exploring new restaurants, art galleries, and neighborhoods – living in Los Angeles means that I could spend my entire life trying to discover them all!

What makes your blood boil?

Honestly? Nothing.

I can only speak from my present state of mind, and I’m currently so filled up and my perspective has shifted such that nothing triggers me to extreme anger like it used to (not even “righteous” anger).

Of course, I must give credit where credit is due, and I credit my current state of mind with the amazing Buddhist principles of compassion toward all beings (even those society deems as “wrong” or “evil”) and being present with all that is.

Check in with me tomorrow – perhaps things will be different then ;).

How do you define confidence?

Confidence is the knowing that you are more than enough and that you have all that it takes; the remembrance that you’re a spark off of the infinite Source of power and light; and that through this knowing and power, you can create your bliss no matter what anyone else says or does to try to hold you back.

When was the last time you experienced pure, unadulterated joy? Can you give us the juicy details?

I make it a goal in my life to experience joy in its purest form just about every day of my life, but one of the juiciest experiences from recent memory that knocked it out of the park was on Valentine’s Day this year.

The man and I discovered a guest house at a ranch for rent in Temecula, wine country in Southern California, complete with its own vineyard, horse ranch, sheep farm, and “enchanted forest” of over 500 ancient Oak trees.

Needless to say, I was in HEAVEN.

We had just picnicked outside and were about to go into town to explore, when we decided to take a moment to simple be on the front lawn of our little house.

I had just finished talking to the trees (one of my all-time favorite grounding activities), the sun was shining, a cool breeze was blowing, and I felt powerfully connected and living fully on purpose (a purpose linked to but not all about what I was doing in my business life).

Whenever my ego starts to question my path, I tap back into that energy, remembering that I am always connected and my life is being lived on purpose simply because I’m living it.

What makes you feel most ENLIVENED?

I feel most enlivened when I’m in my flow, which I’m finding more and more lately through my writing and when I have opportunities to speak in front of groups.

There’s something magical about the way time and energy flow effortlessly when I’m in that state, and I now know to recognize and acknowledge this feeling as a guidepost to affirm I’m in that sweet spot of alignment between my desires and gifts and where the Universe is guiding me.

Gay Hendricks calls it the Zone of Genius in his book The Big Leap (which I highly recommend if you haven’t read it yet!), and it’s a zone that I aspire to spend the majority of my time operating in these days!

Combining my passions with a business I love makes me feel ….

…in alignment, in wholeness, and lucky beyond my wildest dreams.

I am MOST grateful for…

…the overflowing abundance of LOVE in my life – and, more importantly, the consciousness to recognize it.

I secretly wish I could….

…be a genuine bona fide rockstar, jamming out on stage in front of massive crowds! Perhaps thats why speaking at events makes me feel so alive? :)

To me, the words ‘Such Different Skies’ means …

…that there are an infinite number of paths to a well-lived life and that no one path is better than the other – they’re just such different lives brimming with possibilities as high and wide as the sky.LINE
