rawing it right up

Get your bliss notes

I do eat food, I promise. Just haven’t gotten around to taking shots of the awesome RAW meals I’ve been preparing. I have been spending so much time in the kitchen, loving it. Throwing together amazing, all natural, healthy, PURE FOOD. I feel awesome, all the time; have lost weight, my skin is rad and it never has been, boundless energy, positive attitude. I still eat one cooked meal a day, but this new lifestyle ties in well with my all round beliefs about the environment and sustainability and general all round physical, emotional and spiritual wellness. One happy girl right here. I’m really enjoying finding inspiration from other raw foodies and getting creative in the kitchen. Go on, go and make yourself a juice/smoothie/sexy salad/ridiculously yummy nut milk/chia pudding! Delicious.

Above
Green juice > anything green I can get my hands on > cucumber, zucchini, celery, broccoli stalks, ginger, apple, pear.

Orange juice > carrot, orange, ginger, pineapple… think I threw a bit of coconut water in there as well.

Smoothie > this was incredible! > banana, strawberries, coconut water, a little coconut oil, raw organic honey, ABC spread (almonds, brazils, cashews). So sweet and creamy and full of electrolytes.

‘Milk and Cookies’ > I made some homemade macadamia and cinnamon nut milk > (So so SO easy! Blend nuts with water and whatever additional flavors, then strain through a clean cloth), and then used the ground up nutty remains, mixed them with chopped up dates and some flax seed oil, spread the mix on some baking paper and then *put them in the oven with just the pilot flame on OVERNIGHT*. Hardcore raw foodies use dehydrators, but throwing your mixture in the oven at the lowest temperature you can possibly manage, for a long period of time will do exactly the same thing.

Anyway, all raw, nothing cooked, nothing wasted. Happy days.

LOVE IT!!!!!! That smoothie looks glorious. I made a CarrotBanana smoothie this morning. Just juiced a few carrots and stuck it in the blender with a banana. The flavors complimented each other so well. It was wonderful. Glad you are getting into it!

First, it’s a pleasure to ‘meet’ your blog! Second, your common sense attitude in this post has me intrigued about raw food – the fact that you eat cooked food daily but use raw whole meals to boost your energy and nutrition seems like something I should consider too. I’ll try these recipes and see how I go – with all the lovely nuts I doubt I’ll be hungry!
