2012 Words to Live By: Evolve

Get your bliss notes

How time flies. I was hoping to wrap up my little series on Words to Live By by the end of January. I was also hoping to create some space in my life for more constant, fluid blogging, but never mind. These things happen. And so, after choosing exhale, seduce and alkalize, we’ve come to my fourth and final word that’s fueling me in 2012. Evolve.

It’s one of my favourite words ever, and you might have noticed how regularly I use it on this blog.
Growth, change, expansion, progression; all such empowering experiences that are enveloped by evolution.
2012 is proving to be a spiritually huge year for me. I’m noticing the energy both within me and around me aligning to create my authentic power. I’m becoming conscious of what makes me feel peaceful, uncomfortable, joyous and upset. I am recognizing all of these signs and triggers, acknowledging them, breathing, and then moving forward. While I sound a little radical here, like some sort of tree hugging weirdo, I am so, very grateful that I’ve discovered who I really am.

I’ve come up with some snippet thoughts that define evolution in my life.

2012 is the year I turn into a woman…
.. the year I exhale, alkalize & seduce.
I learn to grow & accept. Change & smile.
I learn to speak the Love Languages of those around me.
I become taller, stronger, more patient, positive & powerful with each lesson.
I communicate & create & prioritize & love.
I am not a blogger. I am a writer & a teacher.
I have a young, energetic mind.

I think it’s worth mentioning that while I’m embracing the process of growth and change, I am not encouraging my body and mind to age. With all this spiritual progression, it’s of utmost importance to keep the body limber and the mind and soul playful, curious and fun. Yoga and meditation have played such a beautiful role in my life lately; I feel wiser within my own barrier but also younger in the mind. I find myself seeking out experiences that will make me laugh, that will capture my curiosity and keep me keen. Snowboarding definitely helps {!}, you get me on that board and I turn into a pesky kid that just wants to nail that trick. Besides, with all the time I spend with my head buried in books and online articles, I need playful, ridiculous, creative outlets that allow me to reconnect with that inner child, the one that’s brimming with imagination and innocence.
Also, minds that are curious and young reverse aging, fact!

So. What about you? Is 2012 bursting with spirituality for you also? Are you being good to yourself? Do you actively try and promote youth in your mind? What about evolution, what big things are happening in your life? I’d love to know.

Life begins at the end of your comfort zone – YES. So important to remember. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, quotes, etc!

Constantly evolving is so crucial, and I also think it’s the key to staying young in spirit because as soon as you start to stagnate, you start to get old because you don’t see things as fresh anymore. And everything is fresh to the child.

I can barely explain it in words but recording this album has catalyzed a huge life upheaval for me, and I can’t see the changes clearly yet because I’m still in the midst of it. It’s amazing and really intense, and it’s maybe the byproduct of excavating all those thoughts and feelings in the lyrics, bringing those feelings back to purge them. All I know is that it’s quite the ride, and I’ll be better for it. :)
