Projections: A Poem

Get your bliss notes

Disclaimer: I’m feeling freer in all of my expressions, so I’ve decided to start posting some of my original poetry on this blog. I can’t guarantee you’ll always understand what I’m rattling on about- but if I call it ‘poetry’, I guess that means you don’t have to :)

Formidable somethings sit on the horizon.
They lurk
And they’re heavy.
Cumbersome and black
Sticky, grey.
Its aura radiates anxiety.
Its presence is over coming
And foreign; I don’t own this.

Why then, does this illusion stare?
It is not the truth.
It is not my bliss- it threatens me.

Why too is this sticky goop
Holding you hostage
At horizons length?

What notes do those inner dialogues sing?
How does my spirit dance?
What do I pray for?
Do I even sing, dance, pray
At all?
Do you?

This beast; gnarly, homeless, hollow
Needs love now.
My arms, powered by intent
Stretch out across the ocean
For a moment of embrace-
To coax this vision back to love
Where it is real.
