Happy Saturday lovers, hooray! What are you up to today? I’ve just enjoyed a cracking walk around the mountains with Glen (on this super rare, gloriously sunny day) and a juicy Skype session with my new friend, (the brilliantly zesty) Susana Frioni. The inspiration in the air is thick.
Let’s get straight into The BLISS List for this week (it’s a good one!).
Purchasing Tickets
I’m so excited to be heading to Hay House’s I CAN DO IT! Melbourne Event August 18 + 19. I’m going to be in the same room as Louise Hay, Cheryl Richardson and Doreen Virtue! This is kind of a big deal.
Also, I’m heading to the ProBlogger event, also in Melbourne, October 12 + 13. Are you going?
My boys are coming back to Australia! The Red Hots will be rocking out at the Gold Coast Big Day Out (with me front and centre) in January 2013. Holy moly. Before their last album, I’m With You was released, I was seriously hoping and praying they’d record again. I was worried I’d lost my chance at seeing them live, but when today’s ticket confirmation arrived in my inbox, rest assured there was happy dancing. My spirit will soar when I hear Scar Tissue.
Time Bending
Yup. It’s true- I’ve learnt how to expand time. The freedom! If I’m to be totally honest, although I love everything I’m committed to at the moment, I’ve felt a little chained to the computer lately. Mostly, this is due to my own procrastination; if I get up early to jump online, there’s a good chance I’ll stay there all day. So, I’ve decided to loosen the chains and turn my priorities on their head. Instead of trying to tackle five things in one day, I’ll choose two or three and do them exceptionally. I’ve found honesty to be infinitely important here: sometimes deadlines can’t be met, no matter how informal they are, and when I need a little space to centre back in, I opt for a brief and honest email or text. I’m really excited to get back to you about this, but I wan’t to make sure it’s the best it can be. How’s Wednesday?
I’m making more time for this in my day: sleeping in, cuddles, movement, time in the kitchen, and after a very heart felt and honest request from Glen, more quality time with him (don’t you love it when they get all vulnerable?). I allot some time to get online stuff done- maybe two or three hours, and if it doesn’t get done, then tomorrow is a new day. Also, I’ve realised that my blogging schedule of five posts a week isn’t exactly conducive to longevity. Three or four seems more spacey to me, and will allow more energy to flow into my life from all directions.
Saying ‘I Love You’
This is something that I was just discussing with Susana. Throughout my life I’ve remained pretty private; I literally used to imagine locking my heart up with a key and chain. In fact, I remember when I was twenty-one, I had a very small group of friends, and I would resist meeting new people because ‘My heart is full, I don’t need anyone else in my life’. Can you believe that!? Wow, how sad. These says, I’m singing the tune of L.O.V.E and I welcome it into my life as often and in as big a capacity as possible. If I love what you’re about, what you stand for, what your message is or if I just dig the way you are, then it’s very simple: I love you.
This Mantra…
I love this SO much. My favourite word in this mantra is now. It kind of feels like: You know what destiny, I know I’ve been resisting up until this point. I know I’ve been trying desperately to figure things out, trying to manipulate outcomes and call all the shots. But, I get it now. I know you’re going to take care of me. I’m ready to trust you. I believe in you, and I believe in whatever greatness you’ve got planned for me. Show me what you’ve got.
Yum. Think I’m going to blow this one up on canvas one day. Makes me feel all tingly.
Also this week, I’ve had the absolutely pleasure of popping up elsewhere online with guest posts and interviews.
I wrote a post called The Ins + Out Of Affirmations for Jia Ni’s Happy Healthy Abundant.
Lindsay interviewed me on all things health and wellness.
And Melissa Ambrosini featured me as this week’s Friday Friend. Yay!
A big thank you to these three ladies! It’s super nice seeing my words wrapped up in other peoples blogs. I love sharing the love. Speaking of guest posting, I’ll absolutely be sending a call out for anyone who wants to contribute to Such Different Skies (email me if you’re keen!). I’m slowly but surely transitioning from Blogger to WordPress and working with my designer (!), but once we’ve had a facelift around here, I’d love to have you on board!
What about you? What do you have planned for your weekend and what’s turned you on this week? Would love to hear ALL about it!
I saw the Chili Peppers play several years back after they had recorded Stadium Arcadium, and it was definitely one of my favorite concerts ever. It’s a shame John Frusciante isn’t playing with them anymore, but it’ll still be a hella good show!
This week I got to meet one of my blog friends in the city and have some beer on a roof, it was pretty wonderful. And tonight I’m going to a foosball tournament hosted by some friends. Always lots of fun stuff going on in the summer! :)
once again, perfect timing :)
@Allysia Tell me about it! I kinda died when John F left the band. Devastating. I’m just so crazy happy to see them. There will be tears, stupid, ridiculous tears :) I’m a little sad I’ve missed out on the Canadian summer, you must be having a blast, meet ups and foosball, shit yes! I’m looking forward to meeting tonnes of blogging pals over the next few months, it’s nice to connect! :)
Oh wow those events in Melbourne sound awesome…. Oh I miss Melbourne, so much groovy stuff going on (Plus all the amazing FOOD…. you must check out Lentil as Anything and the Veggie Bar!)
Very quiet weekend for me… sewing, gardening, painting, yoga…. child chasing!
Ohhh I’m dying to go to BDO! The Peppers are one of mine and hubs fave bands… :D
And yes – going to the Problogger event in October! Would love to meet you there :)
I’m going to be there August 18 as well. I can’t wait! First time I’ve flown without my hubby too, so I’m kind of nervous but I’m sure I’ll get over it!
“Tickets? I love Tickets!!”
(I also have a secret love affair with the Charlie’s Angels movies!!!)
All those events/concerts sound awesome! Today I am buying tickets to Ben Harper, who is playing in Brisbane in November. Am super excited!
PS – my heart melted a little with your boy’s words! So sweet, so true, so much love!
I love what you wrote after your NOW mantra – beautiful. I always need reminders not to resist!
