My Killer Green Smoothie Recipe

Get your bliss notes

Here she is folks: probably the best green smoothie I’ve ever had the pleasure of drinking. And she’s been waiting to introduce herself for a few days, but unfortunately for her, I’ve been distracted by some other things. Liiiiiike, you know, emailing new coaching clients (!!!). Meh, no biggie (<<< you can insert some massive sarcasm right there <<<).

Isn’t she gorgeous? Green enough to look appetising but not too green that it looks swampy and ick.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 1 frozen banana, chopped
  • 3 or 4 strawberries
  • Dried goji’s and mulberries (optional)
  • 1 heaping tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup almost boiling water
  • 2 tablespoons spirulina powder
  • 1 scoop vegan protein powder (totally optional)
  • 1 tablespoon LSA (linseed sunflower almond)
  • 2 tablespoons organic coconut shreads
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup non dairy milk- I used rice. You could use coconut water or just plain old H2O
Put the dried berries and coconut oil in the hot water- this allows the oil to melt and the berries to plump. After five minutes, add everything to your blender and whizz that shizzle right up. I used a stick blender, and because I used spirulina instead of leavy greens, it worked a treat- no chunky green bits! I added some chia seeds for garnish. Again, totally optional. And voila!
You know the drill around here- I’m all about free stylin’- please don’t fret if you don’t have all the ingredients on the list. Use it as inspiration and get to creatin’!
This little beauty will be added to my recipe tab above- which reminds me- I’ve absolutely got to spend some more time in the kitchen and re-create those dishes- some of the photography is outright appalling! That’s it for now, see you tomorrow for another video blog.

@Emma: Spirulina can be pretty offensive in my opinion if you don’t counteract it with fruit and cinnamon. This smoothie was seriously delish though x

Annette: Go ahead! Would love you to!

@Emily: Let me know how you go :) x
