Here she is folks: probably the best green smoothie I’ve ever had the pleasure of drinking. And she’s been waiting to introduce herself for a few days, but unfortunately for her, I’ve been distracted by some other things. Liiiiiike, you know, emailing new coaching clients (!!!). Meh, no biggie (<<< you can insert some massive sarcasm right there <<<).
Isn’t she gorgeous? Green enough to look appetising but not too green that it looks swampy and ick.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 frozen banana, chopped
- 3 or 4 strawberries
- Dried goji’s and mulberries (optional)
- 1 heaping tablespoon coconut oil
- 1/2 cup almost boiling water
- 2 tablespoons spirulina powder
- 1 scoop vegan protein powder (totally optional)
- 1 tablespoon LSA (linseed sunflower almond)
- 2 tablespoons organic coconut shreads
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 3/4 cup non dairy milk- I used rice. You could use coconut water or just plain old H2O
Yum Tara this looks amazing! I can’t believe I’ve never tried spirulina, does it have a strong taste? I need to get onto it! xx
YUM Indeed! I am going to be sharing this on our Green July Facebook page (we’re drinking 1 green smoothie a day for the whole of July!). Thanks for the recipes and the pics are gorge :D
Yum yum yum!! I’ll have to try this recipe, been a while since I had a good dose of spirulina!! Good stuff.
xx
@Emma: Spirulina can be pretty offensive in my opinion if you don’t counteract it with fruit and cinnamon. This smoothie was seriously delish though x
Annette: Go ahead! Would love you to!
@Emily: Let me know how you go :) x
