Self-Centred Sundays: LOVE is what the Doctor Ordered

Themes!

Do your weeks ever glide by with very clear, very concise themes?

The last seven days have shown up in my life with stubborn, beautifully welcomed messages: love, connection, community.

I rolled into Part 2 of 2013 bunking up with some of my best friends in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. I wrote about my experience in Friday’s post, but I forgot to suggest this: get your ass to the mountains with your girlfriends.

This is a twice-yearly tradition of ours; we celebrate the past six months, let go of whatever’s weighing us down, and then, together, we face forward (but not before lighting a candle). Potent stuff, my friends. Think: bursts of laughter, tearful-moments, fist-pumping and comfortable silences. Think left-brain projections, and right-brained artistic expression. Think Danielle LaPorte’s Desire Map, but on steroids.

Also, my man came home this week. We’ve (almost) been joined at the hip; play fighting and giggling and un-cooking our way through the days. We’ve decided to become business partners too, in more ways than one, and you know what, we’re beaming! Keep those eyes peeled.

We paid a visit to my mum this week (check out the size of her herb garden!) in Brisbane, too. This week really has had it all: romance, family, friendship and inspiration. More please, Universe.

The Raw Beauty Workshop, held at my favourite place to eat on the Gold Coast, Mandala Organic Arts Cafe, was awesome. I feel so grateful to be surrounded by so many women that are committed to making big change in the world. Whether it’s through educating us about toxic beauty products, organic gardening or raw food- it’s all important stuff, and seeing my friends up there on stage workin’ it… it just plain rocks.

And lastly, I feel like I need to add this one last point… I have received beautiful emails from many of my readers who have been voicing their concerns for me after feeling as though there has been a little sadness seeping into my words lately.

I’m okay.

I’m more than okay. I’m probably one of the most grateful people you’ll ever meet! I simply like to blog about what’s real. What’s happening. What’s slowing me down. What’s calling me to expand and learn. And you- my beautiful reader- learns nothing from me if I poshly offer up only the fairy-dust sprinkled version of my life.

The truth is, I’m very comfortable in the moments where I slow down. I give myself permission to feel frustrated, to feel overwhelmed, to cry. I’m aware that life has it’s cycles and rhythms and for me to attempt to bounce off them and control life with my idea of how it should be operating 24/7- well, that’s rather foolish. Yes, I’m stoked when a new surge of energy surfaces, propelling me into my day with vigour (and let’s be honet, relief), but I’m not afraid of the ‘low’ days. I’m not afraid to experience them, and I’m not afraid to share them with you.

Because hey! We’re human! Tara Bliss is also a human (not just an appropriate porn star name!).

How I celebrated Self-Centred Sundays this week

dsdloveHiking at Springbrook with my man under the bluest of blue skies, alongside towering waterfalls and one very delicious rainbow.

I can still can’t believe this is winter. Pinch me!

And here’s how YOU celebrated! Hashtag that shit #selfcentredsundays

Looking Forward

This week for me is all about tying up loose ends. As I mentioned in Friday’s post, inspiration isn’t always shits and giggles, it can be damn overwhelming. So in honour of conserving energy, I’m going to wrap up current tasks and projects before I even snatch a glimpse at one that’s on the horizon. I’m hoping those perfect ideas that are in the works will be patient with me. Fingers crossed.

So babe, what does your week look like when you look forward? Share with us, below.

“Tara Bliss is also a human (not just an appropriate porn star name!)” – yes, you certainly are! (A human I mean, not a porn star….unless.. ;) )

Beautiful post my lovely- your updates are such a powerful start to the week. I’m completely with you on embracing emotions as they come and not stifling them. It’s taken me a long time to be comfortable with this though! I’m also have a week of snuggling up and getting shizz done- onwards and upwards! xxx
