Hello! :)
And a giant, joyous, loved up hello at that. I am now a married young woman! Thank you to those I received well wishes off. It’s terribly difficult to sum up our day in a few words, or a few paragraphs or even a few pages. It was beautiful and intimate and natural and happy. I can honestly say I haven’t been so overwhelmed with happiness or felt so pretty, ever. You will remember me stressing a little over the snow melt up here, of how all I wanted was a white wedding. Well, that certainly didn’t happen, but the bright sunshine and blue-green mountains and burnt like grass worked together to present us with the most beautiful surroundings in what culminated in a hippies-run-to-the-field feel for our photos. Nothing could have been better. It was wonderful.
Now, who needs a photographer when you have friends and family like mine!? We collected everyones digital photographs, and I have spent hours upon hours editing them, (believe me, this was no chore. What that really means is I spent hours upon hours with the goofiest smile on my face reliving the memories that I otherwise would have forgotten due to unforeseen amounts of adrenaline running through my body!) and now we have a perfect collection of love laden images.
Having a bouquet made never crossed my mind, that whole idea just didn’t felt right to me. I knew I wanted everything to be as simple as humanly possibly, but if there were to be one big pop!, one element to be caught by everyone’s eyes, I envisioned that being my flowers; big, beautiful, robust natives. Colors of a blooming spring and a burnt summer, even though we were in a winter environment. That’s what I imagined: that’s what I got. I ordered cut bunches of Australian natives including a whole range of coccinias, leucadendrons, warratahs, proteas, kangaroo paw and an abundance of blue gum as foliage.
As I sat up in my room, my nerves were running wild! I had the shakes, I was sipping bubbles in an effort to calm them, and I was literally pacing while I thought of everything else that I still had to do… like flowers and candle arrangements and setting up! Low and behold though, Mumma Bear had it sorted, to say the very least. A few rubber bands and a rogue piece of ribbon: voila! My bouquet :)
So… I thought I would break the wedding review up into chapters. Not only will that prevent you from becoming bored, but I can, very vainly, draw out this process that I am certainly not ready to let go of! Next time I might write about the dress, or the tears (not from me, believe it or not), or the food or dancing… I’m not sure, it was all a highlight for me, and it was all something I am so happy to share with you, my online friends :) Happy Hump Day!
oh oh oh ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh that post ooooozed love!!!
Congratulations <3 <3 <3
I can’t believe your mumma made the candles and fixed your dress, so, so good of her!!
It really does look like you had an amazing day filled with love. Can’t wait to see the next lot of photos.

YAY! Everything looks amazing – snaps to your mum for making the candles and, as it sounds, being generally awesome. Love the idea of natives for your bouquet too.
Can’t wait to celebrate with you in November! And then there’ll be even MORE photos ahhaha
These pictures are so beautiful, and I love how personal you and your mom made all the touches for the day – I think that’s just as it should be! Really looking forward to more pic!
