The Unthinkable is Happening….

Get your bliss notes
…I am planning a wedding.
I am planning MY wedding. I type those words and it’s a surreal experience to say the least. Never did I ever think I would make this sort of commitment. I have grown up believing that tying the knot isn’t necessary, that it’s old fashioned, and that it’s just plain doomed, particularly in this day and age Then nearly two years ago I met Glen and last November I proposed to him for reasons I can’t really explain other than I bloody adore the guy. We have a fantastic time traveling this earth, eating cuisines the world gives us, snowboarding beautiful mountains and just basically frothing on life. My life with this man is what I wanted to commit to, he is my absolute best friend. So, to plan a wedding… well, two actually.
In October with immediate family we’re going to have an intimate snowy ceremony here in the mountains. A month later, sunny Queensland will play host to our reception; a beachside party with extended family, friends both current and long lost, anyone who would like to spend the day with us.
Anyone who knows me know that I am not all that interested in fashion. I’m very casual, very jeans, singlet hoodie. So I asked my lovely and fashionably talented friend Soph to point me in the right direction. I am inspired beyond belief! I am preferably looking for a dress for spring in the mountains that my mum will then be able to adjust to a summery-er version. These are a few of my favorites so far

As for hair, I’m an ex-hairdresser, and because I am also a minimalist I will insist on doing my own hair on both occasions. For the mountains, I am absolutely thinking braids. So I sourced some inspiration and then proceeded to have a little experiment (although I think my hair better grow in a hurry!)

Anyway I will NOT turn into a bridezilla, will NOT, so this is more than enough for today’s installment. If you’ve happened to stumble across this page and think you have my sense of style of lack thereof pegged, please don’t hesitate to contact me with any suggestions of advise. Now I’m going to have a cup of green tea and look at the snow outside.
Peace
