Okay, so I’m reflecting on how rapidly the last six months have escaped us, and it boggles my mind! It feels like just a moment ago I was snuggled up in my jammies in our Whistler apartment, nestled in the forest, forecasting my power words for this year.
I thought now would be the perfect time for any of us that came into this year with power words or vision boards, to check in, re-calibrate and launch into the next six months with truth and sass. If you’re without words to live by, how about taking a few moments to translate your ambitions, or the way you want to feel, into just a few words? It’s truly revolutionary.
My Check In:
Exhale
I am a different person this year. Calmer, gentler, slower. Emptied of fear and angst, full of oxygen and hope. I remember choosing exhale because I could imagine myself in stressful situations, having to majorly check myself before I wreck myself by breathing out long and slooooow. But in truth, focusing on the long and slow in-breath in so much more powerful. It just feels plain good. So, so far this year, meditation and yoga at home have become a regular part of my life, and time spent during my daily sauna sesh is devoted to the awareness of my breath. When I become a little overwhelmed with the busyness of L.I.F.E, I remind myself- Ta’s, slow down woman, it’s okay to bring it down a gear- and this brings me a warm sense of comfort.
Alkalise
Check! Roughly, two thirds of my diet are now subconsciously dedicated to alkalinity: a huge liquid breakfast, green smoothies, super foods, sprouts and mountains of avocado, and then a warm, comforting winter dinner. When I reject my fresh juices, I feel it. If tiny morsels of dairy or gluten find their way to my plate, I pay for it. I’ve lost the taste for sugar and alcohol and feel most alive, present and beautiful with lots of fun green stuff in my belly.
Seduce
Which can be used interchangeably with ‘manifest’.
Love: This year, I ‘ve been very clear about something: I’m ready to say yes to more love in my life. I’ve kept coming back to this affirmation again and again, and it’s worked wonders for me. Glen and I, most of the time, are like silly little teenagers in love. We recover from arguments quickly and are constantly rendezvousing in our own sacred place of crazy humour and wicked cuddles. Time spent apart is appreciated and time together, cherished.
Work: I’ve brought a fresh attitude to my work environments. I often find myself resenting my workplace, but this year I know I’m exactly where I need to be, and I find liberation in the self-promise that in a few short months, I will never be here again.
Blog: This has been the big one. I made the decision that I was ready to deliver better content and seduce more readers my way, and now this community is growing, as well as opportunities. It’s a very exciting time and things are only going to get more rock and roll around here. Stick around!
Evolve
Oh man. Yes. Just yes! Here’s why:
- Ommm
- B-School
- Connection
- Self-realisation
- Patient determination
- Serenity
- Knowing-ness
- Acceptance
What a lovely post! So glad I stumbled across your blog :)
Wonderful wise words to live by I think, and its great to limit yourself to just a few actual words – narrows the focus onto what you really want to bring into your life.
I could do with a little more alkalising and exhaling myself over the next six months!
Anyway, lovely to ‘meet’ you Tara! xx
What an awesome post! Love it. I definitely don’t set enough intentions to keep myself accountable and can see it’s something I NEED to do. Looking back, ‘Passion’ is a word that describes my past 6 months well – I’ve never felt so much energy buzzing through me :)
So jelly that you’re doing B-School! Seriously had to restrain myself from registering, I would have had way too much on my plate xxx
Good to know you’re doing well and progressing along your path. :) I haven’t done an exercise like that before, but I totally see the value in it! At the very least, I need to sit down and re-evaluate my goals for the next 6 months, year, 2 years.
Great post Darling! I can’t believe it’s half way through the year! Passion springs to mine and dedication – they are my words for 2012! xx
Yes!!! Here’s to another 6 months of positive change, growth and beauty. I can’t wait to see more of your fabulous blogging, Tara!
